She Has Yet To Arrive

I just thought I'd let you all know she has not arrived.

Here's a cute picture of Delia taken by my friend Elyse. Thanks Elyse. We really enjoyed visiting with you guys...even if it was only for a few hours.

Come Out Come Out...I Know Where You ARE!

Madeline must think we are playing hide-and-seek. But little does she know that I've known all along where she is. I guess it does take awhile for them to truly understand the rules of the game. Delia still doesn't quite understand.

Game Over Madeline! Now come out and meet your family............PLEASE!

I had a doctors appointment earlier this afternoon. I am 2cm dilated and more than 50% effaced. My doctor also stripped my membranes. Which means there is a 30% chance I will go into labor from that. However if not, I'm pretty certain that there is a 100% chance that eventually at some point in the next couple of days (hopefully) I will go into labor...............right?

I can't wait to meet her! Today would have been a great day to have her since it's my grandma's birthday. Not too much time left unless I have a fairly short labor, which I wouldn't mind.

Happy Birthday GG! We love you.

Oh and I updated the poll about Madeline's birthday. Since we've gone past her due date that poll no longer counts. Except for the person who voted for after her due date. You are the ONLY winner! Congrats. Pat yourself on the back. I also realized, with Jake's help (remember he's an engineer) that the poll for her weight isn't really accurate. I didn't give good enough options. So I've changed it as well. Have fun!!!

2 Days To Go...It Has To End At Some Point!! RIGHT??

I didn't go to the doctor the other day. I had emailed my doctor earlier this week to see if I could be checked again because I was curious at my progress especially with all of those contractions I was getting over the weekend. She emailed me back and said she'd have her nurse call me to set up a time. And basically I don't really have to have a time I just have to go in and ask to see the nurse and then they will check me. So I could go today but I'm not going to. Although I am curious, I don't think it is necessary so I'm just going to wait as patiently as I can for labor to start.

I've been wondering a lot lately about what Madeline will be like. Will she be blonde like Delia? Will she have the same chubby cheeks? For awhile I pictured her with brown hair and a more slender face. But lately I've been thinking she's probably going to look exactly like Delia. What will it be like to have another Delia walking around? Well I think pretty good. Let's hope they share the same temperment.........hey I can dream right!

Four Days to Go...Will It Ever End?

I'm starting to think she's going to stay in there forever. But at least I know she can't stay in longer than another week or so. I'm just so ready to meet her and start our new lives as a family of four! Wow, that's wierd....FOUR. I am a mother of two. When did this happen? I feel old but maybe that's just because everything hurts and I can't bend over anymore. I have an appointment today so we will see if all of those labor pains were doing anything. I'm hoping I'm at least dilated a little more than I was last week. I'll update you all later.
For now here are some pictures of our fun and busy weekend with family...well okay they are mostly of Delia but you get the picture...we had fun and Delia has stated at least once a day that she misses everyone.

She's getting so big!

Well I wish I had news to share...

In my last post I stated that the doctor said I'd probably have the baby within the week. Well it's been exactly one week and Madeline has not decided to make her appearance. However she has teased us a bit. Last Friday I started getting consistent contractions for about 2 or 3 hours. They didn't necessarily hurt but they were coming between 2 and 5 minutes apart. My mom and Jake's mom drove 1.5 hours since we thought we'd be going to the hospital. When I called the hospital and told them they said to wait a little longer until they were painful, etc. Obviously I waited and they fizzled out almost completely. And by the time the Grandmas got here we were pretty sure we weren't going anywhere. So we all hung out for awhile and then decided to call it a night and go to bed...hoping that I'd wake up in the middle of the night in "real" labor. That didn't happen either. Early on Saturday morning I did wake up with some contractions and an achey pain in my back. So I got up and showered and it went away!! We decided we'd go to the Chicken Park and walk around and see if that did anything. It didn't do anything but make me tired, extremely hot and uncomfortable. Later that afternoon my sister, brother-in-law, nephew, Jake's dad and Jake's brother came. We hung out and then Jake's parents left. We all ate dinner together and not too soon after that decided it was time to go to bed. I slept really well and woke up thinking we were going to church. But Delia still had a lingering cough and so we decided we should just stay home. So us girls and my nephew went to the outlets which was a big mistake.

I drank a bunch of water and sat in Delia's little pool in some very refreshingly cool water. It helped a lot. But later that day I started getting more contractions that were getting quite painful and some of them I even had to "breathe" through. At this point everyone had to leave and go home except for my mom, which means my mom had no way of getting back home if we weren't actually in labor. She's planning on staying with us for week once Madeline arrives. We thought it was it.....but obviously it wasn't! So she stayed another night until my brother and sister-in-law could come pick her up last night. And so now we are just waiting. waiting. waiting.

I hope that it is soon but I'm not really getting my hopes up anymore. I want to labor as much as I can at home, but have to take into consideration that the hospital where we are delivering is a good 30-45 minutes away if there is traffic. Which is quite common in these parts. We're hoping she decides to come before or after rush hour.

In other exciting news my friend Kelli emailed me a link to the slideshow of the rest of the pictures from our photo shoot. I absolutely love them!! Thanks again Kelli.

Could be within the week!!

I just got back from my appointment. I am dilated to 1 cm and 50% effaced. My doctor also said that Madeline is really low and engaged and that she thinks I'll go into labor within the week. But she also said that these babies have fooled her before. I'm still holding onto the sooner rather than later though!! Let's hope I post soon that we are on our way to the hospital.

Birth Day and Baby Weight

I added a couple of polls...just for fun and maybe because I am bored.

The Facts:
Madeline is due on Memorial Day, that is less than two weeks away.
Delia was born two days after her due date.

Delia was 7 pounds 8 ounces when she was born.

So make a guess and if you are right then you get the satisfaction of...guessing right. Sorry no prizes awarded.

I have an appointment today and will update later if there is any news to share. I hope there is.
