This was the first year we actually decorated for Christmas. We've never really had a Christmas tree until this year. Well unless you want to count the teeny tiny one we had a few years ago. I think it was smaller than Delia and she was only 1.5! We don't even have enough ornaments to adequetly cover a tree but we put one up anyways. And although we weren't there for Christmas it was still fun starting that little tradition. Delia enjoyed decorating it and did a great job. We put lights up in our big window and snowflakes hanging in the window. After we were all done decorating we decided to have hot chocolate. And at some point Delia was left alone (I think Jake was helping me change a rather explosive diaper) with the hot cocoa mix...and apparently she didn't realize that we would notice the brown mess all over her face. She was caught red handed so we took pictures because it was just too funny not to. While we were taking pictures we told her to smell it...but what we didn't remember was that when you tell Delia to smell she usually blows instead! The cocoa went everywhere. It was hilarious. She had it in her hair, eyelashes, nose....EVERYWHERE! I'm glad we had the camera out to capture it all.
We've been hanging out with family, playing Wii and eating way to many yummy cookies! We are going to be celebrating Christmas with the Talley's at the end of the week and then we'll head back home after being gone for a week and a half. We're looking forward to going home. I miss my bed.
Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and that you'll have a happy New Year!
Hope you enjoy the slideshow!

Pat-a-cake Pat-a-cake
Madeline has started clapping. It is super cute...of course. Her favorite song is Pat-a-cake Pat-a-cake...so it's fitting that she would be clapping already. She first did 3 days ago and everyday since she does it a little bit more. Pretty soon she'll be clapping all day! She gets so proud of herself when she does it too. I love the look on her sweet little face. So cute!
Here is a short video of our little clapping machine...

It's our 5th anniversary today...and Jake has to work. At least today he will only put in 4 or so hours rather than 12. We are planning to go get a Christmas tree, do a little shopping and then go out to dinner...the 4 of us...of course! Quite romantic don't you think? We like doing things together as a family. And I couldn't really leave Delia with someone when she's barely seen her Daddy this week. And I definetly can't leave Madeline yet and would feel bad taking her and not Delia. Anyways those are our plans and if you don't like them then pooey on youey!
Here is a little slideshow of pictures from our wedding FIVE years ago! A have so many more pictures but they all need to be scanned in first. So these will have to do. And the song was "our" song.....the first song we danced to as husband and wife...

1 Year Already!
I've been blogging for a year already. I've enjoyed it and hopefully you have too. Of course I know there are a few of you out there that read this....like grandmas and aunts but I'm certainly curious who else might be sneaking a little peak at our amazingly boring lives. So I may start doing something to get you secret readers involved.........I mean come on.....a little comment here or there couldn't hurt right? Okay moving on.......updates....lots of updates.....
~Madeline hit the 6 month mark almost 2 weeks ago. Can it really be that my sweet little newborn is already half a year old. Wow it has flown by. She is doing really well. Eating like a champ and growing like a weed. She had her 6 month check up a few weeks ago. She weighed in at 17lbs 3 oz and measured 27 1/4 inches. Delia weighed 18lbs 10oz and measured 27 1/4 inches when she was that age. WOW! Delia was my little chunky monkey for sure.
~Madie is talking a lot more. Making more consonent sounds like DaDa....which of course isn't actually her calling Jake DaDa...but he insists she is. :)
~Madie has two teeth now. She got her first one the day after Thanksgiving and then 6 days later she got her second. And she hasn't drooled ONCE! I just realized the other day that she isn't a drooler. I had to put bibs on Delia every day because she drooled so much that her clothes would get soaked. I probably changed her bibs 2 or 3 times a day. So strange!
~Jake has been working overtime since the 1st. He's been working 12+ hour days and working Saturdays as well. It hasn't been easy for us girls...especially Delia. Only seeing her Daddy for an hour each day doesn't make for a happy camper! He will be working overtime up until Christmas. And then he gets the rest of the month off....and hopefully the rumors about working overtime til March won't come true. It is hard for me to not complain especially when I know that the extra money is a HUGE blessing right now. I suppose I'm just getting tired of eating every meal without him and only conversating with a 3.5 year old that more times than not is pretending to be a baby and an actually baby that can't do more than babble.
~Last weekend my mom and I had a craft show in her garage. It went fairly well. Although I didn't personally sell much the experience was fun none the less. I also didn't have a chance to make much. Between the girls, keeping the house "clean" and (maybe) showering everyday I don't have much time on my hands. I am thinking about selling the rest of my stuff on Etsy. For those of you who don't know Etsy is a site to buy and sell all things handmade. Stay tuned for that.
Well I think that is all the updates for now. There really isn't much going on here.
Here are a few pictures of Delia when she was 6 months old and a few current pictures of Madeline.........what do you think? I get mixed reactions from people. Some say they look exactly alike while others aren't sure. Most people say that Madie definetly looks like a Talley. So I'm quessing then that Delia looks like my side? I'll have to dig up some pictures of me when I was little so we can compare.

Madeline at 6 months

Turkey Day Pictures
Pictures from Thanksgiving weekend. ENJOY!!
Oh and you may have noticed the wishlists that I added on the side...You know just in case you wanted to get one of us something for the holidays. Jake hasn't added anything to his because he doesn't know he has one yet! HAHA. But mostly these are for the girls. Just a way to give you an idea of what they may want (need).
