Daily Trailer Fun Fact - Day Six

Day Six: The kids have learned a new poem.

If it's yellow
Let it mellow
If it's brown
Flush it down

Even Jude says it and typically he will yell from the bathroom, "Mom! It's brown!! So I got to flush it down." Jake put in a normal toilet. I'm pretty sure I would have hated using a trailer toilet. It's the small things that are making this not as painful as it could be. So far it hasn't been very painful at all. God is good.

This awesome tree was at the old house. Jake hung 7 swings in our backyard. 

This picture was taken on our last day there. For all the complaining I did about 

this house I really am sad to leave. We made a lot of memories there. Jude and Claire

both learned to walk there. Claire was born in the middle of the living room while her big sisters 

watched. It's the first house we ever lived in since we got married 10 (almost - 3 more days!) 

years ago for longer than a year. In fact it was nearly 2.5 years!!

Daily Trailer Fun Fact - Day Five

Day Five: Our trailer's water heater works great if you like only having 3 minutes of hot water and any thing else is freezing cold.

We are planning to buy a tankless water heater. Then we will be able to take normal showers, the kids will get bathed and I'll be able to keep up on dishes without having to wait for the water to heat up between each use.

Daily Trailer Fun Fact - Day Four

Day Four: Toddlers and Trailers is better than Toddlers and Tiaras.

Our first day here Claire took a tumble out of the trailer. :( It was my fault, too. When I stepped out of the trailer I thought that I pushed hard enough against the screen door to close it completely. The next thing I know I'm a few feet away and I hear the door open. I turned to see who was coming out totally expecting to see Jake. Instead all I saw was a blur of purple (her shirt was purple that day or more like hour ... she is so messy!) tumbling head over heels down the three metal steps and landing face first in the dirt. She hardly cried and aside from getting both of us completely dirty she was just fine. She only came away with a little bruise on her sweet little cheek. After that she then proceeded to fall down the three carpeted steps twice. But I am happy to report that as of Day Four she is doing much better going up and down the steps inside the trailer and so far hasn't had much interest in the "front" door. At least in a trailer I'll always know where she is and what she's getting into.

And I'd rather have a toddler in a trailer than a tiara any day. ;)

Daily Trailer Fun Fact - Day Three

Day Three: The roof isn't the only thing that leaks.

I really dislike washing dishes by hand. Obviously that is something I will have to get over. We are using plastic and paper to make the whole transition easier but I am still cooking and so therefore we are still creating dirty dishes. Today I was washing the few that we had piled up and of course the sink leaked when I let the water drain out. Whoops. 

P.S. The bathroom sink leaks, too. Maybe we should call the trailer "Old Faithful Leaker".

Day Two: Trailer refrigerators are small.

Thankfully our friends are letting us use their extra one in their downstairs office/media/ourlaundryroom/Ireallyneedtocomeupwithanameforit space.
